Shutting Down DNAG Delegation

I am sorry to announce that I plan to shut down DNAG Delegation. I started working on Tezos related projects in 2017. I then became one of the original baking services on the Tezos network launching in the 8th cycle in July 2018. I am incredibly grateful to the various Tezos community members who have been delegating to me through the years. Although I don’t know many of you by name, the amount of support I have personally received in DM’s, emails, telegrams, etc, has been nothing short of amazing and has not gone unappreciated.

I plan to shut down for a combination of various reasons:

  • DNAG Delegation was opened to try to offer an alternative to the high baking fees during Tezos’s launch. The fee has always been 5% even when other services took as much as 40%. That being said the margins were and have always been thin.
  • Tezos Defi is taking off, and at this point in time, it no longer makes fiscal sense to continue baking.
  • The Tezos Token (XTZ) price action, to put it lightly, is ultimately disappointing and I think it is better to maintain a threshold of liquidity.
  • With the current sociopolitical climate that has made doxing justifiable, I no longer think it is wise to have your public key tied to your public name even at the trade-off of extra income.

Shutting down the service is not an indication that I think Tezos will fail, I do think it is likely to succeed, but it will be from the names you don’t know and not necessarily the leadership that you do.

Next Steps:

As a thank you to everyone, I will keep the service open for 7 more cycles (281–287) with no fee. I will continue to give daily reminders about the service’s closing.

All of the best,

DefinitelyNotAGoat
